Coming off an important win against Santa Barbara, the CIF 1-AA Division second-ranked Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team was upset in five games at Buena.
The scores in the match were 19-25, 25-15, 25-16, 21-25, and 13-15.
“They came ready to play tonight and we didn’t,” head coach Todd Garrett said. “We failed to execute our adjustments and lacked a sense of urgency in an important league match.”
Amanda Moriarty had 17 kills, and Taylor Racich added 15 more while libero Katie Spieler had 16 digs, but the production from the Dos Pueblos seniors was not enough to carry them to a victory.
“It is disappointing for sure,” Garrett said. “It shows us, however, we have a lot of work to do. How we move on from here is what counts.”
The Chargers (11-2 overall, 3-1 Channel League) continue play at San Marcos on Tuesday.
