Jessica Domenichelli registered her fourth straight hat trick on Friday in SBCC’s 4-0 women’s soccer triumph over Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.
The Vaqueros, ranked No. 3 in Southern Cal and No. 9 in the state, improved to 13-2 and 8-1 in the Western State Conference.
Domenichelli, a sophomore forward from El Dorado Hills, gave the visitors a 1-0 halftime edge with a goal in the 39th minute on an assist from Jo Lawlor. She scored again in the 65th minute on a through ball by Ali Raack.
Five minutes later, Katie Voss took a pass from Domenichelli and made it 3-0. Domenichelli completed the eighth hat trick of her career in the 83rd minute on a through ball from Nicole Payne.
Domenichelli has eight goals in her last two games and 14 during SBCC’s four-game win streak. She has 24 goals on the season, one shy of the school record she set last year. She’s second in the state with 56 points.
“Jess is a great finisher and you don’t often see four hat tricks in a row,” said coach John Sisterson. “We were a little anxious in the first half, then we settled down.”
The Vaqueros have a first-place showdown with unbeaten Ventura on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in La Playa Stadium.
