Providence Hall’s girls volleyball team was swept by visiting Coastal Christian on Saturday in a game that was almost a full 180 from the day before.
After sweeping Ojai Valley School on Friday on an outside court, the Lions were on the short-end of a 25-16, 25-18, 25-21 non-league decision in Westmont’s Murchison Gym.
“It was a completely different environment from where we played yesterday,” said Lions head coach Dale Colburn, whose team is now 6-6 on the season. “We were a little bit slow on occassion today.”
Faith Emerson was an exception, leading the team in kills, digs, and blocks.
“Her overall energy and effort on the court was really at a high level,” Colburn noted.
Emerson tallied 10 kills and matched Olivia Barroca with a team-high five digs. Lacey Gonzalez led the team with 10 assists.
Providence Hall competes again on Wednesday at Midland.
