Vanesa Villa earned medalist honors, but the Dos Pueblos golf team couldn’t take advantage of excellent scoring conditions in Paso Robles and lost by three strokes to the Bearcats, 246-249, in a non-league match on Monday.
Villa shot 38 but the next best Charger shot a 46.
“Paso played well on what can be a hard course for visiting teams,” DP co-coach Dan Choi said. We talked a little afterward about how we all probably had at least three strokes as each individuals that we probably could have saved had we played smarter. We agreed that it was all about learning from those mistakes and hopefully making smarter choices the next time out.”
The Chargers (9-4) return to Channel League play and face San Marcos on Tuesday at Santa Barbara Golf Club and Santa Barbara at Montecito Country Club on Thursday.
