Former Dos Pueblos High star and Stanford sophomore Carly Wopat has been selected as the Pac-12 women’s volleyball Bank of the West Offensive Players of the Week for Sept. 26 – Oct. 2, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Wopat led Stanford to wins over Arizona State and Arizona last weekend. The middle blocker hit .502 in the two matches, registering 3.71 kills per set and 2.00 blocks per set. Against ASU, Wopat was nearly perfect in recording 12 kills on 21 attempts, registering just one error for a .524 hitting percentage. She also added five blocks against the Sun Devils. In the win over the Wildcats, Wopat tied career highs with 14 kills and nine blocks, while hitting .480 in the match.
Wopat becomes the first-ever Pac-12 volleyball player to win offensive and defensive player of the week honors. She was the defensive pick on Sept. 12. It is her second-career Pac-12 weekly recognition and Stanford’s 78th all-time.
