The future looks bright at the running back position in Bishop Diego’s football program.
In last Friday’s JV game against Santa Clara, freshman Abel Gonzalez rushed for 401 yards on 44 carries in a blowout win over the Saints. The Cardinals compiled 541 yards on the ground in the game.
Gonzalez is averaging more than 209 yards per game and has 16 touchdowns for a team that is 5-2 and averaging 40 points per game.
