The Carpinteria girls volleyball team jumped to an early lead against Malibu, but were unable to hold on and lost in four sets.
The scores in the games were 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 16-25.
Lacey Bushey led the team in kills with eight and Allie Nixon led with three aces. Kylie Augerot turned in a great defensive performance with 21 digs.
“Consistency is the key to winning tough matches and we didn’t have enough to pull it out” head coach Katie Dolge said. “We were ahead in all 3 of the games that we lost, but couldn’t keep the momentum to win.”
Carpinteria continues its season at Fillmore on Tuesday.
