Weather delays football games on South Coast

A freak storm filled the sky with thunder and lighting on Friday night and caused delays in several football games.

Santa Ynez was up 21-0 at Carpinteria before the game was halted at halftime.

Santa Barbara’s home match against Rio Mesa was delayed after the third quarter ended.

San Marcos’ first match on their newly renovated home field was called early with three minutes left in the game, and San Marcos won for the first time this season by a score of 24-0.
