Vanesa Villa shot a 38 at Glen Annie Golf club to help Dos Pueblos to 231-296 victory over San Marcos in the first match of Channel League competition for both squads.
The shot of the day came for San Marcos’ Brittany Peretiako, who hit a hole-in-one on the sixth hole.
“She hit a solid 9-iron and put it in the hole,” San Marcos assistant coach Eric Foote said. “Some players play all their life and never make an ace.”
The windy conditions troubled many of the San Marcos players who lost balls at several points throughout the match, while the Dos Pueblos players were better able to adjust to the elements.
Dos Pueblos continues its season at Glen Annie Golf Club against Buena on Monday.
San Marcos plays next on Thursday at Santa Barbara Golf Club against Ventura.
