Haley True and Kristin Discipulo fired a pair of 78s on Friday, leading SBCC to fifth place after one round of the Desert Classic women’s golf tournament at Indian Canyons Resort in Palm Springs.
Nicole Bullemer turned in an 80 for the Vaqueros, who shot 320. Palomar leads the 11-team field at 299, followed by Glendale (301) and Bakersfield (307).
Malea Miller of Bakersfield was the medalist at 6-under 66.
“I was happy to see Haley and Kristin play so well and shoot in the 70s,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “I want them to realize they’re capable of doing that all the time.”
The final round will be played Saturday morning..
