SBCC linebacker Manny Hernandez has been named American Pacific Conference defensive Player of the Week after an outstanding game at Ventura.
The 6-foot, 224-pound sophomore from San Marcos High had a season-high 16 tackles, including seven solo, with two tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. It’s the third time he’s received Player of the Week honors in his career.
Hernandez leads the state in tackles with 42 in three games for a 14.0 average. Last year, he was No. 1 in the state with 130 tackles.
The Vaqueros will host Moorpark on Saturday at 6 p.m.
