Katie Spieler and Dani Rottman won the girls 18-and-under division of the California Beach Volleyball Association’s California Cup Youth Championships this past weekend in Manhattan Beach.
The duo defeated Tiffany Morales of Redondo Beach High and Cassie Strickland of Edison High 28-26 in the final match after going undefeated all day.
For Spieler, a senior at Dos Pueblos, this is her second California Cup Youth Championship as she won the tournament last year with former high school teammate Nikki Brown. Rottman is a senior at Santa Barbara High.
Spieler and Rottman reached the Manhattan Beach tournament by winnning a CBVA qualifier in Santa Barbara earlier in the summer.
