Oxnard’s Katie Rice was the medalist with a score of 34 in her school’s second match against Santa Barbara in as many days. The final score at River Ridge Golf Club was 209-220 in favor of Oxnard.
For the Dons (2-3), Isabella Doub’s performance was the highlight of their young season. She was one over par for the course with a score of 36.
“Isabella had one of the best days that I’ve seen at Santa Barbara High,” Santa Barbara head coach Ryan Throop said. “It’s exciting to see how well she can play.”
Saralisa Ortega posted the second best score at 41. Then came Claudia Fanaro with a 44, Olivia Fanaro with a 48, and Alissa Crane with a 51.
For Oxnard (3-0), Drew Thomas finished just behind Rice with a 37, Falicia Anderson shot a 39, Pamela Quiatchon scored a 40, and Megan Anderson shot a 59.
Santa Barbara will play next on Monday at the Santa Ynez tournament at the Alisal River Course.
