The usual suspects for the Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team had excellent performances in a sweep over Thousand Oaks on the road. Taylor Racich led the team with 22 kills while Amanda Moriarty added 12 more and Katie Spieler led with 24 digs.
The scores for the sets were 26-24, 29-27, and 25-19.
“Katie Spieler helped out the team a ton with her scrappy defense and great attitude on the court,” assistant coach Paige Crain said.
Thousand Oaks played Dos Pueblos close in the first two sets, and jumped to a big lead in the second game, but the disciplined and experienced Chargers were able to win both by narrow margins.
“After a slow start our tough serves are whats helped us come back from an 8-1 deficit. Sticking together as a team is really helping us pull off the close games,” head coach Todd Garrett said.
Dos Pueblos returns to Channel League play on Tuesday at Ventura.
