Losing to Brethren Christian in the quarterfinals during last year’s postseason was fresh in the minds of the Laguna Blanca girls volleyball players when the two teams met on Friday night at Laguna Blanca. The Owls defeated the Warriors in straight sets behind Amanda Harvey’s 15 kills and Lauren Alef’s 18 assists.
“Our ball control was excellent tonight,” Owls head coach Jim Alzina said. “We handled our side of the net.”
Chloe Richman recorded 12 digs and Mckensie Scarborough added five kills to help Laguna Blanca to their impressive early-season victory.
The Owls will host the Laguna Blanca Invitational all day tomorrow at the Page Youth Center in Santa Barbara.
