An energetic Dos Pueblos girls volleyball swept Ventura, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, in a Channel League match Tuesday night at the Cougars’ gym.
The Chargers (9-1, 2-0) are ranked second in CIF Division 1-AA.
“Tonight was a total team effort,” DP coach Todd Garrett said. “We saw a lot of things we have been working hard on in practice transfer to the court. As a coach, it feels really good to see that.”
Garrett saw Emma Craine step in at libero and pick up eight digs, middle blocker Sarah McKinny post six kills and two blocks and middle Lina Kleinschmidt add two kills and Sam Rhine a kill and a block.
He also praised the passing of Teah Burdick and Colleen O’Connor.
“I was proud of our energy tonight,” Garrett said. “We came ready to play.”
