Lacey Gonzalez and Faith Emerson were all over the court in Providence Hall’s dominant road victory over Midland in three sets.
The scores for the sets were 25-14, 25-18, and 25-21.
Gonzalez led the team with seven kills and 13 assists, while Emerson had five kills and six digs. Both girls served well and each had four aces.
“We had a goal at the very beginning of the game to take it in three,” head coach Laura Trudelle said. “We stuck to that and maintained our level of play.”
After building a lead in the first two sets, Providence Hall was able play some team members who have gotten little opportunity this season. An already raucous bench exploded in cheers after Carys Davies recorded her first ever kill.
Providence Hall will play next at Channel Islands in Oxnard.
