Isabella Doub played like a seasoned veteran in her first high school golf match, shooting a 40 at Birnam Wood Country Club to lead the Santa Barbara girls to a 234-276 win over Rio Mesa on Thursday.
Coach Ryan Throop said Doub is a sophomore transfer who played at a golf academy in Florida last year.
“This was her first high school golf match,” he said. “It was a great way to start, especially at Birnam Wood.”
The Dons (2-1) next play Oxnard on Tuesday at Montecito Country Club.
