The Santa Barbara High girls volleyball team won the first two sets against Santa Margarita on Friday night, but then lost three straight for the Dons’ first defeat of the season.
The Dons traveled to Orange County and won the first two sets 25-17, and 25-23. Then the momentum turned against them and they dropped the remaining sets 25-18, 25-16, and 15-6.
“They have got some good players and those good players got hot,” Santa Barbara head coach John Gannon said. “It’s good to get on the road and have a tough match like this early in the season. We saw some things we need to work on.”
Dani Rottman led the Dons with 17 kills. Holland Crenshaw and Haley Fuller had 10 and seven kills respectively.
Santa Barbara will return home to play Thousand Oaks on Tuesday at 6:30 PM.
