Both the boys and girls teams for the Cate School defeated Carpinteria at Carpinteria Bluffs in their first meet of the season.
The boys team won 26-31 while the girls won 25-32.
Joshua Yaro won the boys race while Adrian Walsh won the girls race. Both are Cate students.
