The Cate School girls volleyball team started well at home against Malibu, but was unable to keep the momentum on their side and lost in four sets.
The scores for the sets were 26-24, 18-25, 15-25, and 13-25.
Sydney Pierce led the team with 10 kill, with Annie Weis not far behind at seven.
The Cate team is still experimenting with different players at new positions, and still looking for the best formula for success.
“Once again we threw in a new line-up, moving players around,” head coach Greg Novak said. “It’s good to have a team that’s versatile and can adapt to whatever roles they’re given.”
Cate plays next on Wednesday at Carpinteria.
