Carpinteria lost its first two girls golf matches in Tri-Valley League play, falling to St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian.
Lauren Taira shot a 48 and Zoe Luna fired a 49 for the Carpinteria in a 260-291 loss to St. Bonaventure at Buenventura Golf Course.
“I was very proud of the effort all the girls exhibited,” Carpinteria coach Chris Gahan said. “All the girls hit some impressive shots.”
Megan Herrera of St. Bonaventure was the match medalist with a 42.
Against Oaks Christian, Taira led the Warriors with a 50 in a 256-308 decision at Camarillo Springs Golf Course. Brigette Dunn of Oaks Christian shot 40 to win medalist honors.
“The girls struggled somewhat with a new course to more than half the team,” Gahan said. They really tried hard and had a great Warrior Spirit despite losing the match. They continue to improve in their course management skills.”
