The Bishop Diego girls volleyball team was unable to take a set at La Reina in their fourth league match of the season.
The scores for the sets were 25-17, 25-15, and 26-24.
“They were far more physical than we were but we competed all night long,” head coach Jason Donnelly said.
Lauren Underwood and Diana Sleep led the team with seven kills each while Julianne Salcedo continued to rapidly improve at middle blocker and finished with five kills and three blocks.
Bishop Diego led late in the third set, but was unable to prolong the match.
“Unfortunately for us, they have some big-league players and they were able to sneak one by us,” Donnelly said about the final game. “I was really proud of our effort.”
Bishop Diego (3-3 overall, 2-2 league) continues Tri-Valley League competition against Nordhoff at home on Tuesday.
