The Carpinteria girls volleyball team was unable to earn a home victory against Thacher in a closely contested match that took all five sets to determine a victor.
The scores were 25-16, 22-25, 21-25, 25-18, and 10-15.
Mistakes made by the Warriors in games two and three proved to be costly at the end of the night, according to coach Katie Dolge
“It was those couple times that we allowed them to get a little run of points,” she said.
Despite the loss, Carpinteria drew many positives from the neck-and-neck match in which they were without two starters because of injuries.
Allie Nixon had 13 kill for Carpinteria while Kylie Augerot had 18 digs. Freshman setter Allie Sundara had an excellent performance from the service line with three aces.
“It’s the best we’ve played the whole season,” Dolge said.
The Warriors will host the Carpinteria Tournament this weekend.
