Jeff Rydberg and Andrea Sanchez notched their second title in three years at the sixth annual Lime and the Coconut Co-Ed Beach Volleyball Tournament at East Beach on Saturday. They knocked off Tim Nestlerode and Kim Zuffelato, 21-14, in the final.
Local Shane Cervantes and partner Anna Parmely joined Melody Khadavi and Evan Constantouras in a tie for third.
The tournament drew 79 players (40 men, 39 women).
“The talent pool was great this year,” tournament director Dillan Bennett said. “Adam Phillips, our event director, did a great job of putting together a great field of high-level guys and girls. I have played or helped organize every Lime and Coconut and this was the best field of girls we have ever had.
“Jeff and Andrea have been randomly paired in this tournament twice and each time they have won.”
