Taylor Rochestie, a former standout at Santa Barbara High, has signed a one-year contract with the French basketball club Le Mans.
Rochestie, 26, finished last season with Alba Berlin in the German League, where he averaged 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 27 games.
He started last season with Galatasaray Cafe Crown in Turkey.
“I am very excited to come to Le Mans,” Rochestie said. “Individually, I am ready to make my teammates better and to provide leadership on the floor We aspire to be competitive in the French League and the Eurocup.”
LeMans opens Eurocup qualifying play against Pinar Karsiyaka of Turkey.
In his first professional season in 2009-10, after completing his four years at Washington State, Rochestie played for Germany’s Goettingen club. He led the club to the 2010 EuroChallenge championship and earned final four MVP honors.
