A community remembrance for football coach and teacher Jeff Hesselmeyer is set for Monday, Aug. 8 at San Marcos High, the school announced.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Greek Theatre in the middle of the campus.
Hesselmeyer passed away at his home on July 23. A private burial service was held on Saturday, July 30 at the Santa Barbara Cemetary.
The remembrance service will include tributes from current and former Dos Pueblos and San Marcos athletes and coaches.
Hesselmeyer coached and taught at Dos Pueblos for 25 years. He was entering his third year as head football coach at San Marcos.
Due to construction at San Marcos, parking is limited to the parking lot off Turnpike, next to Maury Halleck Gym, and the lot off Hollister, next to the Johny Stoney Tennis Courts.
