Dos Pueblos withstood the heat inside the Anaheim Sports Center and won three matches Saturday in the Foothill Queen of the Court preseason girls volleyball tournament.
The Chargers beat Capistrano Valley (25-21, 25-17), Yorba Linda (25-20, 25-19) and Los Altos (25-10, 25-7) on the first of two-days of competition.
“We had a good day,” coach Todd Garrett said. “It was about 100 degrees inside the ASC but the girls pushed through. Our setters, Maddie Leiphardt and Tristan Racich, had a hot day of running around around chasing passes but worked hard to run the offense.”
Amanda Moriarty paced the Chargers’ attack with 14 kills on the day. Sierra Hofstatter added nine, Hannah Harris five and Colleen O’Connor four. Sarah McKinny controlled the net with five blocks.
Katie Spieler provided solid passing for DP.
