Walker Bell went under 13 minutes for the second week in row and won his 10th Nite Moves 1-kilometer swim on Wednesday night at Leadbetter Beach.
Walker came in at 12 minutes, 56 seconds, 23 seconds off his career best, which he did last week. The 14-year-old Santa Barbara Swim Club member has won every 1k swim he’s entered this season.
Triathlete Chris Braden came in second in 13:19 and San Marcos High water polo and swim coach Brian Roth finished third in 13:27.
Maelyn Adornetto and Olivia Smith, Walker’s teammates with the SBSC, were the top two female finishers. Adornetto, 14, was timed in 14:45 (sixth overall) and Smith, 13, in 14:48 (seventh overall). Samantha Jett finished third in 15:43.
Kyle Visin continued his strong summer finishes, winning the swim-run aquathon in 35:06. The athlete known as Shakes of Chicago was second in 38:32 and Roth finished third in 39:41.
Roth’s wife, Leslie, was the first woman (fourth overall) in 41:04. Leslie is a cross country and swim coach at Dos Pueblos High.
Goleta’s Zac Campbell won the 5k run in 17:23
