Goleta Valley South opened up a 4-0 lead after two innings and went on to rout Montalvo 12-1 to set up a showdown with Dos Pueblos for a spot in the finals of the District 63 12-Under All-Star Tournament.
The crosstown rivals meet at 1:30 p.m. at Girsh Park on Sunday in the double-elimination round.
Goleta Valley capitalized on Montalvo mistakes to score two runs in the first, with D.J. Sharpe driving in Carson Vom Steeg and Trey Klopstein.
In the second, Josh Feldhaus scored on a throwing error and Vom Steeg drilled a line drive into the left-center field gap to bring home Kyle Gonzalez.
The runs kept coming for Goleta Valley. It scored four in the fifth to put the game out of reach. Three pitchers combined to hold Montalvo to one run.
