Eighteen members of the Santa Barbara Foresters have been selected to play in the California Collegiate League All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13 at Stengel Field in Glendale.
The game will be televised at 6 p.m. on Fox Sports West.
Foresters manager Bill Pintard will guide the CCL Americans team against the CCL Nationals, who will be managed by Chai Fanning of the San Luis Obispo Blues. They were awarded the managerial honor by having the top two records in the league.
This will be the third CCL All-Star Game. The Americans won the first game, 14-6, and the Nationals prevailed last year, 12-5.
The Forester All-Stars are: Blake Brown (Missouri), Austin Dicharry (Texas), Ryan Hawthorne (Loyola Marymount), Stephen Johnson (St. Edward’s), Brad Kottman (Rice), Shane Kroker (Chico State), Austin Kubitza (Rice), Derek Legg (Cal State Fullerton), Jeff McVaney (Texas State), Riley Moore (Arizona), Mitchell Mormann (Wichita State), Michael Ratterree (Rice), Lance Roenicke (UCSB), Richard Stock (Pierce), Christian Summers (Texas), Brett Vertigan (UCSB), Joe Wallace (UCSB), James Wharton (Pierce College).
wow that’s a lot of all stars from only one team. how many other teams are in this league anyway? are the players on the other team no good or do the Foresters have all the talent in the league? just asking.

i guess the question is–what forester player DID NOT make the all-star team? 18 players made it? does this mean all the everyday players, 8, made the team + 6 reserves + 4 pitchers=18, the foresters must be an awesome team. how do they ever lose a game with so many stars?
