Beijing, China has been a goldmine for Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
The American women’s beach volleyball duo returned to the site where they won the Olympic gold medal in 2008 and won the FIVB World Tour’s first Grand Slam of the season. May-Treanor and Walsh defeated Germany’s Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler in a marathon match, 21-14, 24-26, 15-9.
The gold is the second medal in three events this season for May-Treanor and Walsh, who hadn’t played together since April 30 in Sanya, China, when May-Treanor sprained her MCL. They took silver in the season-opener in Brasilia, Brazil
