UCSB’s Ryan Martin finished eighth in the 800-meter final at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa.
Running after an hour rain delay, Martin faded on the second lap and came in at 1:47.62. The winner was sophomore Robby Andrews of Virginia in a statdium-record time of 1:44.71. Charles Jock of UC Irvine was second in 1:44.75.
Martin was making his second straight appearance at the NCAA Finals.
