Jack Johnson pitched three strong innings and drove in three runs, and the Goleta Valley South 10-under All-Stars clinched a spot in the double-elimination round of the District 63 Little League Tournament with an 18-3 romp over Fillmore on Thursday.
Goleta Valley South improves to 3-0 in pool play. The team closes out pool play on Tuesday against Dos Pueblos in a game that will determine the seeding for the double-elimination round.
Frank Gamberdella went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs, Luke Roberts went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and Johnson went 2-for-3 to pace the Goleta Valley South offense.
Chris Abbott closed the game for Goleta Valley South with an 11-pitch fourth inning that included two strikeouts.
