Ventura’s top-seeded team of Brendan McClain and Michael Lowe lost only three games and breezed to the semifinals of the Channel League Doubles Tournament at San Marcos on Wednesday.
Santa Barbara put two teams in the final four. No. 3 Cooper Mathieson-Graham Maassen pulled out a tight second-round match with Eric Katz-Sean Handley, 6-4, 6-4. Second-seeded Morgan Hale-Jack Damen survived a tight first set against Jackson Mann-Jackson Foster and pulled away to a 7-5, 6-0 win.
Also making the semifinals is the San Marcos team of Petar Jivkov-Travis Enholm. They defeated Santa Barbara’s Logan Liddelll-Mitchell Kuhn in the second round, 6-2, 7-5.
The semifinals are at 1:30 and the the final at 3:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club. The singles final is also at 3:30 p.m.
