MARION, Ind. — Senior Chrissa Trudelle finished in seventh place in the women’s marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday morning to earn two team points for the Westmont women’s track and field team.
Trudelle completed the 26-mile 385-yard course in 3:05.42.
“I’m a little bummed that I missed out on All-American by one place,” said Trudelle. “I feel like I gave it everything I had and I am happy with the time. I feel like I was able to get out of myself all of the energy that I had. If I were to change anything it would be the start – I went out a little bit fast. There were a couple of miles early on that were faster than they should have been. I think I paid for that later. The first lap was significantly faster than the last.”
Trudelle’s time was the fourth fastest in Westmont history.
“During the race, there was a lot of Westmont support,” said Turdelle. “There were people at every aid station ready to give me the Goo and water. At the end they were cheering for me. It felt nice to have a lot of supporters.”
Scott MacDonald was the final competitor for the Warriors at the championship meet. MacDonald put the shot 15.31 meters (50-2.75) for the second best throw of his career. MacDonald placed 20th in the event.
