The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honored seven of UC Santa Barbara’s swimming and diving team members with All-Academic honors it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the conference.
To be eligible to the award, a student-athlete must have posted a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, be of sophomore standing academically, completed one academic year at their current institution and have competed in at least half of its teams’ competitions during the season for which the award is being given.
Seniors Astrid Amsallem, Brittany Borowitz and Missy Burley were each honored along with juniors Laurel Ferguson, Kendall Neely, Katie Reeves and Miranda Schneider.
The six swimmers and one diver helped lead the Gauchos to a second-place finish at the inaugural MPSF Swimming and Diving Championships this spring.
