Thayer White’s consistent play led him to Channel League Individudal Golf Tournament championship at Soule Park on Tuesday.
The San Marcos player shot 2-under par 70 for the second day to finish at 4-under 140. White leads seven qualifiers to the CIF Individual Regional Tournament on May 16 at Las Posas Country Club.
Santa Barbara’s James Morton beat Ventura’s Matt Thomas on the second playoff hole to earn the final spot. They tied at 152 after 36 holes.
Greg Robarge of Ventura finished five strokes behind White to place second. Carson Curtis of Dos Pueblos was third at 148, Spencer Mikles of Santa Barbara took fourth at 149, Jeremy Musgrove of Buena came in fifth at 150 and DP’s Brett Patton nabbed sixth place at 151.
Santa Barbara, Ventura and Dos Pueblos will represent the Channel League at next Monday’s CIF Team Regional at Cypress Ridge in Arroyo Grande.
