Jordan Roberts slugged two home runs and Agnetta Cleland went 3-for-3, but it wasn’t enough as Dos Pueblos lost at Buena 7-5 in a Channel League softball game on Friday.
The Chargers had to play from behind as Buena went up 3-0 after two innings. They managed to tie the score with three runs in the fifth inning.
But Buena (8-2 in league) went back ahead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth.
DP threatened in the sixth and seventh innings but a double play and a ground out to the pitcher ended those threats.
The Chargers (9-1) can clinch their first league title in three years with one win in their next two games against San Marcos.
Hannah Harris went 2-for-4 for DP.
