Cate tennis advanced to the quarterfinals in the Division 4 CIF playoffs after beating Buckley 10-8 on Friday, at Buckley.
Blake Mackall led the way for the Rams, sweeping his sets 6-4, 6-1, 6-0.
Doubles team Jason Park and Ahmed Bou-Rabee also swept their sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
Both singles and doubles won 5-4.
“I think we played pretty well against a scrappy team in Buckley. The kids were also able to respond to higher temperatures in the valley,” said coach Bob Bonning
Cate finds out its opposition in the quarterfinals on Saturday and hits the courts on Tuesday.
