Doubles Graham Maassen and Cooper Matthieson from Santa Barbara tennis ended their run in the CIF Individual Tennis Tournament on Friday, losing to Shuhai Shubahara and Chris Dalton from Peninsula 6-2, 6-0 at Seal Beach Tennis Center.
Maassen and Matthieson made it to the final 16, with 500 doubles teams participating in the tournament.
“I am extremely proud of Cooper and Graham for making it this far in the tournament. They both played excellent tennis today, although they had to play the #2 seeded team in the tournament and they were just too tough,” said coach Greg Tebbe. “Today officially marks the end of the SBHS dons boys tennis season. It has been a terrific season and there is a lot to look forward to in 2012.”
