Both the Carpinteria boys and girls swim teams won the Frontier League Championship on Friday for the first time in school history.
Both teams topped Cate School to earn the championship title, as the boys prevailed 261-194, and the girls 340-286.
The boys 200 medley relay team consising of Jacob Pate, Allen Chavez, Thomas Fly and Ben O’Hara finished first with a time of 1:54.66.
O’Hara also took place in both the 100 fly (1:01.59) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.91)
Chavez finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.48 and Pate earned the top spot in the 200IM at 2:24.47
The girls 200 medley relay team of Hope Grant, Carter Grant, Kalia Diioia and Maddie Brooks won with a time of 2:04.67. The same team also finished first in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:05.43
Hope Grant also won the 200 freestyle at 2:09.84, and Brooks finished the 100 freestyle in a time of 1:00.55.
Carter Grant won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:50.55
“It was a good day today. Both the girls and the boys swam their hearts out,” Carpinteria coach Bryan Swarm said. “I’m excited that Carpinteria finally has a championship. The kids have been working really hard to try and get this done.”
