Two doubles teams and one singles made it to the quarterfinals in the Frontier league finals held at Oak Park on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to bring a victory back for Bishop Deigo.
Shaun Stratford Jones lost to Oaks Christians #1 player 0-6 0-6 in the quarterfinals, while Andre Kohansamad fell in the preliminary round to Oak Park.
Doubles Mick Mathis/Matt Grimes lost to Oaks Christian 6-4, 6-2 and Keane/Nick Lensander fell to Oaks Christians #2 teams 6-2, 6-2, both in the quarterfinals.
“We didnt seem very competitve today. They didnt catch us on our best day, and nobody answered,” said coach Ray Vazquez
Even with the loss off seniors Shaun Stratford-Jones and Mick Mathis, Vazquez feels postive about his future team.
“The kids are excited about the future of the program. This year was a rebuilding year for us, and we’ll only get better.”
