Ventura topped SBCC 9-0 on Friday at Pershing Park,, extending its WSC win streak in men’s tennis to 58 matches. The defending state champion Pirates (12-1, 8-0) won their sixth straight conference title this season. SBCC fell to 1-11 and 1-7 after playing its third match in four days
“They’re a solid team that showed a lot of depth and experience,” said Vaquero coach Ryan Heinberg.
Simo El Azzouzi played the closest match of the day, losing 6-4, 7-5 to Jonathan Lin at No. 3 singles. SBCC will compete in the WSC Tournament on April 15-16 at Ventura.
