It wasn’t a good day for SBCC on Saturday as the Vaqueros dropped five matches in the Round of 16 at the WSC Men’s Tennis Tournament.
Saturday’s winners earned spots in the Southern Cal Individual Regional.
Regis Fastrez and Troy Akin both fell in straight sets in singles.
The best match of the day for the Vaqueros came in doubles as Akin and Rob Herr dropped a three-setter to Ventura’s top team of Sasha Hedberg and Dylan Cleary, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.
SBCC will send five players to the prestigious Ojai Tournament on April 28-May 1 — Fastrez, Akin and John Rosenkvist in singles, along with Fastrez-Che Borja and Akin-Herr in doubles.
