SBCC received an at-large invitation to the Southern Cal Regional women’s team tennis playoffs on Sunday and will open at Grossmont. The first-round match will take place on Tuesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. in El Cajon.
The Vaqueros (10-3, 8-2) won their last four matches and seven of their last eight to take second place in the Western State Conference. They played their second match of the year at Grossmont on Feb. 4 and dropped a 6-3 decision.
Grossmont is 15-1 and won the Pacific Coast Conference. The Griffins have captured 11 state championships with the last one coming in 2008. SBCC won the state title in 2001.
