Abhi Frandsen won two races and swam on a pair of winning relay teams to lead the San Marcos boys swim team to a 137-44 win over visiting Orcutt Academy on Wednesday.
The Royals girls got a two individual wins from freshman Dasha Depew, who also swam on two victorious relays, in 116-63 win.
Depew won the 50 freestyle in 26.09 and took the 100 free in 56.80.
Ashley Wagner swam a personal best of 2:25.67 to win the 200 IM, took second in the 100 back in 1:05.57 and was on two winning relays.
Coach Chuckie Roth also noted the swims of Amanda Underwood in the 50 and 100 freestyles.
Frandsen swam 23.92 to win the boys 50 free and 53.29 in the 100 free.
Coach Jeff Ashton lauded freshman Spencer Kemp, who won the 100 breast in a personal best time of 1:13.63. Jason Phreaner took the 200 free in 2:07.59 and Cory Babinski took first place in diving.
Ashton noted the swim of Ben Battles in the 500 free. “Although he didn’t win the race, he dropped his personal best time by four seconds.
San Marcos’ next meet is next Wednesday at home against Buena.
