Four out of five divers from San Marcos boys diving team met CIF diving standards, qualifying them for CIF consideration on Friday at the Sacred Heart Diving invitational held in Pasadena at the AAF Rose Bowl Park Center.
Thirty-two girls and 20 boys competed in the invitational.
Austin Howard led the way for the boys squad placing 10th, while Cody Badinski placed right behind Howard at 11th. Jack Shields placed 15th and Neil Holliday rounded out the Royals at 20th.
Alex Brown placed 19th representing the San Marcos girls.
“It was great competition. Today will make us better as the Channel League (finals) come around,” said coach Chuckie Ross. “We’ll be more prepared for it.”
San Marcos hosts Orcutt Academy on Wednesday, April 6th, at 2 p.m.
