New teammates Aaron Rubio and Chris Keane have proven to be a great duo for Bishop Diego tennis.
The new pair swept their sets on Friday against Villanova, in only their second game together. Bishop Diego won 13-5.
“Aaron and Chris have only played two games with us, and they’re obviously gaining some chemistry and confidence,” said coach Ray Vazquez.
Cardinals Nick Lensander/Sergio Lopez and Matt Grimes/Mick Mathis also swept their sets, 3-0.
Sean Stratford-Jones led the way for singles, winning two sets.
“Sean has been playing really well and consistent. He hit the ball really strong today,” said Vazquez.
Villanova’s Patrick Lenz swept his three sets, leading the way for singles.
Bishop Diego moved to 2-8 overall, 1-5 in league and play again Saturday against Dunn High.
