Haley Peterson capped a nine-pitch at-bat with a two-out, two-run single, lifting Dos Pueblos to a 2-1 softball win over Rio Mesa in the Pacific View Tournament on Wednesday.
“It was another excellent defensive game against a great quality team,” said DP coach Donn Roberts. “We made only one error, while our two pitchers held them to four hits, struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter.”
Marisa Radeke pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up the run and two hits, while striking our four. Hannah Harris finished the game, striking out five of the eight batters she faced and allowing two hits.
Amber Altavilla, Ashlynd Williams and Harris each had two hits for the Chargers (11-5), who are 2-3 in the tournament.
